Bouygues Construction maintains its commitment to social responsability following changes to its corporate foundation

01-02-2024

In 2024, the Terre Plurielle Foundation* will become Bouygues Construction Foundation. It will align its actions on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal no. 4, which focuses on universal education.

The Bouygues Construction Foundation is refocusing its mission on the areas of education and the transmission of knowledge by supporting local, targeted and high-impact actions.

The projects it supports will seek to remove barriers to access to schooling, promote the acquisition of basic knowledge and fight against academic failure. They will also provide support for young people in their journey towards educational success and/or towards professional integration, and will help develop continuing training systems and tools designed to aid teachers practising their profession.

Support for education and professional integration

The Foundation relies on emblematic partnerships, whether at national or international level. In France, it will work closely with the National Federation of Schools of Production, helping to finance the training of professional instructors and making significant investments in professional equipment for eight schools located close to the Group’s principal regional locations.

At international level, the Foundation will partner the European Institute of Cooperation and Development in Morocco and Côte d’Ivoire, two countries where the Group operates, encouraging the development of training programmes leading to diplomas targeting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The Foundation’s investments will also extend to technical centres, training for teaching support staff and career guidance for students when their training is over.

Employee engagement

During 2024, the Foundation will invite employees to submit proposals of projects for consideration. Twelve of these will be chosen, and they will be closely monitored throughout their duration. In accordance with the emphasis it places on social responsibility, the Foundation also encourages employees to become actively involved at local level, providing opportunities to take part actively in carrying out one of the winning projects through skills sponsorship schemes.

The Bouygues Construction Foundation is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of members of the Group and external figures (see composition of the Board below).

Building for life

As a builder of places and of vital links, Bouygues Construction has been responsible for building hundreds of junior schools, high schools and universities all around the world, indicative of its commitment to providing access to education, knowledge and professional learning.

The new focus of the Bouygues Construction Foundation reflects the Group’s deep convictions and its corporate culture focused on integration, training, mentoring and skills development throughout each individual’s career. Each year, the Group welcomes 3,000 trainees below the age of 25.
