Bouygues Construction presents NewCare, a range of services dedicated to healthcare institutions

16-11-2021

At SantExpo, the international health and innovation trade fair held in Paris from November 8 to 10, 2021, Bouygues Construction and its subsidiaries Bouygues Bâtiment and Linkcity presented their NewCare offer dedicated to healthcare facilities. This new approach, which has been jointly developed with healthcare players, is designed to support the development of sustainable and resilient healthcare areas and spaces that promote the well-being of residents, patients and their family members. NewCare also provides an optimised and efficient working environment for carers and staff.

NewCare, a collaborative and innovative approach to construction with healthcare players and our partners

The NewCare range of services, developed in association with a broad ecosystem of partners in the healthcare sector, brings together all the expertise of the Group and its partners in this field, built up through a vast number of projects carried out throughout the world (in excess of 570).

In particular, Bouygues Construction and Dassault Systèmes have jointly developed a digital space configurator that enables customised design using 3D modelling of certain areas such as rooms in care homes. This configurator allows clients to quickly choose the proposed layout options based on an optimised and standardised design with respect to technical issues. It also provides better control of quality, costs and deadlines, as the standardisation of technical spaces allows certain elements to be industrialised and any reservations to be resolved before construction. Finally, thanks to 3D visualisation, the digital configurator allows healthcare professionals to familiarise themselves with their future workplace.

NewCare, an approach that provides customers with buildings designed to anticipate future needs

Changing medical practices and technologies have an impact on the operation and activity of healthcare establishments. Buildings must be designed to be more sustainable and adaptable, with reversibility incorporated into the initial design. For example, it will be possible to transform a hospital intensive care unit into outpatient facilities. NewCare offers solutions that provide the greatest possible flexibility of structure, partitions, access, networks, etc. to allow a healthcare facility to undergo a future transformation of use, quickly and cost effectively. The building thus retains its real estate value whatever the context, and anticipates future needs. NewCare is also innovative in the way it addresses the needs of healthcare professionals: improved flows, natural light, reduced environmental impact, and connectivity through digital options such as fall detectors and GPS technology.

Claude Rolland, head of the Healthcare Unit at Bouygues Bâtiment, said: “The objective of our teams, in conjunction with our partners, is to understand and provide innovative solutions to the expectations of healthcare professionals and their patients so that we can provide them with the best possible living and working environment.”
