23-05-2019

A consortium comprising Colas Projects (project manager), Colas Centre-Ouest, Aximum (the Road Safety & Signaling subsidiary of Colas) and Bouygues Travaux Publics Régions France (a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction) signed a contract with Cofiroute to widen Highway A10 in Touraine, France for a total amount of 150 million euros (Colas share: 95 million euros, Bouygues Travaux Publics Régions France share: 55 million euros).

The two-part contract calls for the widening of 25 kilometers of roadway on Highway A10 between Veigné and Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine to 6 lanes: the first section involves a 10-km stretch between the towns of Veigné and Sorigny for 70 million euros; the second section involves a 15-km stretch between the towns of Sorigny and Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine for 80 million euros.

The project mainly comprises earthworks, modifications to existing access and engineering structures (reconstruction of overpasses and widening of underpasses), paving, drainage, equipment, signs and signaling.

Work will begin in July 2019, with completion scheduled for late 2022.

The project has been designed to improve traffic flow, and boost local development.

In 2018 and early 2019, Colas and Bouygues Construction paved the existing median and installed concrete barriers on a 70-km section of Highway A10 between Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine and Poitiers.
